Happy Earth Day

I think I said it best when I wrote in my journal after school today, "I love the earth because it gives us what we need to be happy!"
And it couldn't have been a more beautiful day with friends over and the sun shining and playing outside, riding bikes and laughing for the entire afternoon.
Thank you Earth!

have you heard the news???

My ANC is 1400 today!  YAHOO!  Maybe those awesome docs of mine will continue to keep me on the 50% of oral chemo so I don't start feeling super yucky again and my counts go way down?????  Doc also reassured my Mom that my spinal fluid is crystal clear (well…that means there are no signs of leukemia cells lurking around).  We usually just assume that that is the case (unless they tells us different, no news is good news we have been told) but it is always nice to hear it from the expert's mouth.

the latest fashion craze

My Grandma and I came up with this awesome and may I add….very stylish ensemble…when I was visiting them.  I am already sporting the "pixie cut" that some Hollywood celebs also have so maybe they will take my lead on this creation?  All you need is a blanket and some curling ribbon.
Grandma and I are hoping to see it on the runway one of these days…..

a break from winter

We got away from the cold and ice outside and spent a nice, long weekend at Key Lime Cove (one of our new favorite places).  It was so fun to spend three days splishing and splashing around in the water.  My brother and sister and I all love the water (surprise!)  and all things swimming so it really was the perfect little getaway.  A little ice cream never hurts, either :)

Easter Bunny connection?

The Easter Bunny was so good to me and gets a "way thumbs up".  Now if we could just get the chemo meds to cooperate (not make me feel icky and lower my counts) the same way….I would be smiling like this all of the time.
Maybe that Easter Bunny can have a talk with my docs....or really more importantly....the medicine????
I will have my sister email him…..

crazy princess day at clinic

Ok….you wouldn't normally put those two words together,  crazy and princess, but this was kind of one of those days.  Last week at clinic,  I decided I wanted to dress like a princess (Theresa and I coordinated colors of course!) and so I walked around and the nurses all "ooohed and aahhed" over my cute costume (and how about those high heel shoes!).  I did really feel like a princess.  Now here comes the crazy part….well, first of all my hair has been a little wild and crazy (Mom is still trying to figure out  how to deal with those curls) and I discovered they had some crazy mirrors (the ones that make you look really small or really big) on the side of the clinic where Theresa works (pediatric neurology) so we had a lot of fun with those.  My ANC is back up (good but kind of crazy) so that means that I am back on 50% of oral chemo and I also had to have a procedure (lumbar puncture with chemo injected in my spinal fluid)…..totally crazy!  No one wants to have that!  But I did pretty well and we will see what next week brings with my counts being back on a reduced amount of the daily oral chemo I have to take.
I haven't been feeling too hot this week so I guess only time….and craziness…..will really tell! ;)
So long from Princess Chloe…….

our friend, Faith

We found out some very sad news at clinic on Thursday.  Our friend, Faith, passed away at the age of 18.  This had been her 2nd fight with leukemia and she had many complications.  When we saw her at clinic and visited with her, though, she always had that beautiful smile on her face and was so upbeat.  Mom and I will certainly miss her beautiful spirit and kind ways.

wildlife wonderment at Willowbrook

My fellow Daisy's and I had a great time learning about some wild animals and their homes at Willowbrook Wildlife Center.  Each girl brought a bag of lettuce for a donation (yes, they really need greens to feed to the animals!) and we presented them with a check from our troop as our charitable donation from our awesome cookie sales.  We got to vote on where we wanted to give the money and that is what we decided on.  We learned a lot, laughed a little and it made us proud that we had helped out the animals that call their home Willowbrook.
